EASY APPLESAUCE
This recipe could not be any easier. There is no peeling, no cutting , no chopping and best of all, you benefit from the nutrients from the skins without the skin! Homemade baby food just got easier!
Ingredients:
- 6-8 Apples washed (keep whole)
- 1/2 Cup Water
- ½ tsp Cinnamon
- 3 tsp of sugar, brown sugar, or honey/agave
Directions:
- Bring ½ cup of water to boil in the bottom of a large double boiler.
- Add whole apples to the double boiler basket, cover and cook on low heat until soft. Approximately 15 minutes.
- Scoop the apples into the food mill and spin the handle until the apples are pressed through the disc.
Add the cinnamon and sweetener
*Notes: A
Food mill comes with different grinding discs so if you are making baby food, I would use the least course disc. If you are interested in making baby food or make your own to go applesauce for the kids. You can easily just fill
sagespoonfuls baby food pouches and store in refrigerator or freezer.
You can also store in an airtight container in refrigerator. Personally, we love to add it to our oatmeal.
